Fear not

C. S. Lewis wrote after the death of his loving wife -

“No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear.  I am not afraid, but the sensation is like being afraid; the same fluttering in the stomach, the same restlessness, the yawning.  I keep on swallowing.”

It has been stated that FEAR is

and although C. S. Lewis stated that he wasn’t afraid – it was the sensation or the emotion if you will of being afraid that made him feel the likeness or the sensation of fear.

It has been stated that in the Bible you can find “fear not” 365 times;  a “fear not” for each day of the year.  Well, I am not sure who said that and why others have repeated it for years but unfortunately it’s not accurate and we need to stop repeating it.

Nonetheless, ”fear not” may not be in the bible 365 times but  “fear ye not, be not afraid, I am with you” are in the Bible.  So I say to you fear ye not for God is with you during your mourning season and whether “fear not” is in the Bible 365 times or just  once — it is still a sure promise from the word of God.

Please don’t allow grief to cripple you — so that it immobilizes you into being afraid of the present moment and the future.

Be strong! Be courageous!  Be not dismayed!  Be not afraid!

For the Lord thy God is with you!

Be encouraged~
